March 17, 2017 was the day... In fact, it was 4 years to the day Lauren and I first met. Who would ever think they would meet the love of their life in a dance battle on St. Patrick's Day? Well we did...but that's a story for another time!
This day was a long time coming. 6 months of planning came down to one moment. Lauren was with her friends, having a bit of a girls day, when one of the girls had a quick errand to run at a nearby hotel. Little did Lauren know, that's where I was. Outside on the patio. Zac Brown Band in the background. Candles lit. Ready to propose.
While I was overcome with excitement for the proposal, I was also in complete meteorologist mode. Throughout the day, it was cloudy and a bit cool even by March's standards. I was ferociously checking my data, the radar, any and all information I could get my hands on to ensure this would be perfect. As fate would have it, showers were on the way. The patio was wide open. So, Plan B was to meet her indoors and pop the question there. But, as I analyzed the maps more intently, I knew how this day would go. All signs pointed to the rain letting up. What ultimately happened? Skies quieted down and it was a picture perfect moment.
This is how Rain or Shine Weddings was born.
This amazing moment rested in the hands of Mother Nature...who no one can control. With all of my tools, I had a plan for anything heading in our direction. That way, Rain or Shine, it would be a perfect day.
